I had a similar problem with my driver and passenger doors, so maybe this will help. What happened with my doors was that the plastic interior trim came loose, and then it would catch on the frame of the door and not let it open. Unlock the back hatch, and then from the inside, feel around the edges of the plastic trim panel. If there is a loose spot, push it towards the center of the door and this should release it enough to open the hatch. There are clips that hold the plastic panel onto the metal frame, and they may have broken or come loose. You can buy replacement door panel clips and try to fix it yourself, or have someone else do the work.

I hope this helped :-)
