Question: how does the alarm system work?

I need to know how the alarm system works. How do i turn it off after it has been tripped?

if it's a diamante then:

to stop the car alarm, insert the ignition key into the driver's side door lock and turn the key to the right.

1992 Diamante didn't come with an alarm key fob. The system was a "passive" alarm & was activated/de-activated through locking/unlocking the car doors & trunk with the ignition key.

Either 1993 or 94 was when the key chain alarm fobs were integrated into the system.
