Question: Catalytic converter and exhaust manifold or something else?

Noticed a louder than normal engine sound or exhaust sound at first crank over in morning. We had someone tap the converter in front and they heard a little rattle like something is loose. I took it for a second opinion and they told me it could be an issue with the oil filter and the oil not getting to the top of the engine OR catalytic converter. I paid 2x for my vehicle to be hooked to a computer. No codes!
Third opinion over phone with video said it was more than likely catalytic converter. So I immediately went to the muffler shop where they told me it would cost way more than I can afford to replace the entire system front and back.
Taking a step back, I asked the 3rd and 1st opinions if I could do the work my self and order the part online and they said yes and you dont have to replace the entire catalytic system.
Searching for a decent priced manifold/cc, I asked a mechanic if his work was warranted and parts. He said that if I hear rattling it could be the egr valve or in need of a tune up. Im so lost!
